The Orange County Figure Skating Academy has a tremendous amount of resources to offer skaters of all ages and levels from Tiny Tots to Double Jumpers. Our competitive coaching staff teaches classes and private lessons daily.

Class Information

• Our next session begins June 2, 2010. Register today!
• Sessions are ten weeks long and include one 30 minute class per week and 10 free public session passes*
• Upgrade to our Fast Track program and participate in unlimited classes within a session!

Class fees are as follows:

• Ages 4 and up - $120. Skate rental not included.
• Ages 3 and under - $88. Includes skate rental.
• Stroking Class - $88. Free public session passes not included.
• Stretch Class - $52. Free public session passes not included.
• Fast Track upgrade: ages 4 and up - $59, or ages 3 and under - $39.
• Skate rental is $30 and must be paid in full at time of registration.

At the Orange County Ice Palace you are welcome to register for our Skating Academy at any time during the semester. Please join us and sign up today!

Fast Track Program

The Fast Track Program allows skaters enrolled in the Orange County Figure Skating Academy to participate in unlimited on-ice classes appropriate to their skating ability. Increased ice time can help skater progress faster and boost confidence. A skater must be enrolled in a qualifying Core Class in order to upgrade to the Fast Track Program. Core Classes are Snowplow Sam 1 through Double Jump class. Enrollment in a specialty class does not on it's own qualify for a Fast Track upgrade.

Bring A Friend

Ask your friends to join in the fun! Every fourth week skaters are encouraged to invite their friends to class. All "friends" who take advantage of this offer will receive a free 4-week session of introductory skating classes. Dates and restrictions apply.

Create Your Own Class

If you do not see a class that fits into your schedule, you can create your own. With a group of 4 or more friends of the same skating level we may be able to arrange a class that will work for you. Please contact our Academy Director for more information.

Evaluations

Each level requires a total of 16 weeks of instruction in order to move on to the next level. Each 16-week semester is divided into two 8-week sessions, session 1 and 2. During week 7 of session 1 all skaters will receive a progress report listing a skater's strengths and elements that might need work. During week 7 of session 2 skaters will receive a report card informing them of their graduation and their class to enroll in next.

Make-up Classes

If for any reason you are unable to attend a class you are allowed two make-up classes per session. Be sure to sign in at the registration desk, fill out a make-up slip and give it to the instructor at the beginning of class. Missed classes must be made up within the same 8 week session.

Specialty Classes

Our Skating Academy has several specialty classes to help supplement what skaters learn in their core classes. We offer three levels of Stroking Classes, Moves in the Field & Edge Class, Stretch Class and off ice conditioning & strength training. Speed, power, flexibility and edge quality are all valuable tools in developing well rounded skaters and help build a solid foundation. Stretch Class and off ice conditioning & strength training are not included in Fast Track upgrade. For Off-Ice Conditioning times and prices please contact Barron Hockey Academy at (714) 692-0444.

Skate Rental

Skate rental may be purchased for $24 and must be paid in full at the time of registration. Fees include skate rental for your class time only and do not include skate rental when using your 8 free public session passes. $3 skate rental may be purchased on the days you come to practice.
